'To know you is to love you' - card

Image
#NativeBreeze #FauxStitching #AustralianFlora Hi all, here's my first papercraft post for 2020. Yes, it's already pretty much 1/4 of the way through the year, but better late than never! So on a recent trip to Kaisercraft, I saw the 'Native Breeze' collection and thought I just had to have it; it's gorgeous! It really showcases the beauty of Australian flora! I only used one patterned paper sheet of the project, but I definitely will be scrapbooking with this paper (hopefully soon)! *** First I cut out an 8 1/4 x 5 7/8 inch piece of black cardstock, scored along the middle at 4 1/8 inches and folded it in half to create a notecard that is 5 7/8 x 4 1/8 inches. Then I cut a white piece of cardstock to 5 7/8 x 3 3/4 inches, this will become the front panel of the card. Finally cut out a piece of patterned paper to 5 7/8 x 2 inches. Next step; using dies. I used a die-cut a bird sitting on a branch from some white cardstock. Then I created some faux...

'Anniversary flowers' - card

Image
#HappyAnniversary #Love #Foil Hello paper crafters! Hope all is well. Mini hiatus on the blog posting, playing a bit of catch up on my crafts and studies. I thought I’d share a card that is quite simplistic and elegant. I think it’s perfect for an anniversary or wedding card. *** For this card, I used a white 5 1/4 inch square notecard for the base of the card. I cut a 5 1/8 inch square piece from some plain white cardstock to form the panel of the card. To give this card a bit of dimension, I decided that I should add a thin piece of foam to the back of the panel. I cut a foam piece down to a 5 inch square and adhered it to the back of the panel. Next, I cut a strip of grey cardstock with a width of 3/4 inches. Make sure the length of the strip of grey cardstock is at least 5 1/8 inches. I also a strip of vellum to a width of 1 1/2 inches with a length of 7 inches. To create the sentiment I stuck some double-sided tape on the back of some white cardstock and the...

'Snow and Sparkle' - card

#LetItSnow #Sparkle #KCShakerChallenge5 Hi everyone, today I'm sharing a card I made for a challenge by Kaisercraft. The challenge said we could make either a shaker card, tag or ornament. I went for the shaker card option! They also mentioned they'd love to see creations using their 'Let It Snow' collection; good thing I had bought the paper pad and flourishes the previous day! XD I've started using Instagram stories as a platform to share my papercrafting process as I make the card in real-time. They are not as detailed as a video tutorial, but the idea is to show that crafting is rarely a linear process and that it can vary a lot as you create! So make sure to follow me on Instagram! @scrapwithstardust *** Shaker cards are one of my favourite types of cards to make, they are just so much fun to create! For this card, I used a 5 5/16 inch square notecard (I used a 10 5/8 x 5 5/16 inch piece of white cardstock and folded it in half to make the not...

'To the Moon & back' - shadow box card

Image
#moon  #astronauts #apollo50th Guess what everyone?! It's the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing! I'm sure many are reliving the epic moments of the first steps on the Moon (sadly I didn't exist back then, but I can still celebrate!) Here's to astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins, the crew of Apollo 11 :) *** So how do I go about celebrating? By making a card of course! This card is supposed to resemble the following photo, most epic anti-selfie ever taken! The picture is of the Moon, lunar module and the Earth, the only person not in the picture is the person who took the photo, Michael Collins! Earth's Moon - Apollo 11  - Credit: NASA  For the base of the card I used two 6 1/8 x 4 1/4 inch notecards. This card is going to be a shadow box card! I have a tutorial on how to create this card here . Make sure to check out my instagram to see the card pop-up action . We'll be making the same card as the tutorial, but wit...

'You are FABULOUS!' - card

Image
#rainbow #fun #pride Hi everyone, so this month is pride month, and I thought I'd make a rainbow card in celebration! So rainbows are pretty awesome, we see rainbows thanks to the Sun, rain and the 'magic' of physics! Ok, so it's not magic, but close enough. But you know what's actually magic? You! Being your amazing-and-inspiring self!  Now on to the card making! XD *** For the base I used a 6 1/8 x 4 1/4 inch white notecard. I used a different patterned papers that highlighted each colour of the rainbow. You can use any papers you have with the highlighted colours as follows; red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. I have listed the collections of the papers I used below. I cut the all the patterned papers pieces down to a length of 4 inches. For the width I tried to make sure that they were all slightly different, the exact widths I used (in descending order) are as follows: purple (1 3/16 inches), red (1 2/16 inches), green (1 inch), yellow (...

'Thank you so very much' - card

#butterflies #scrapstudio #stamps Hi everyone! Here's my second blog post for the year (I promise to blog much more frequently). I haven't been blogging but I have still been papercrafting. There are number of cards I've made for friends over the past few months but haven't been documenting the process, so I have recreated them (to the best of my memory) to share here! *** For the base of the card I used a 6 1/8 x 4 1/4 inch white notecard. I used Kaisercraft's 'Scrap Studio' papers to create this card. It's just a gorgeous collection! Using one of the patterned papers from the 6 1/2 inch 'Studio scrap' paper pad, I tear it in half, and then tear along the other edge as well. This should give you a strip of patterned paper with two torn edges and is 6 1/2 inches long as shown in the figure below. Using the patterned paper with the butterflies on it I fussy cut some butterflies. I also pop out one of the sentiments from the paper p...

'Noel, Noel' - cards

Image
#christmas #firstnoel #peace Ever needed to make a bunch of Christmas cards in a short amount of time? Well here's a bunch of cards I made in under an hour***. I'm trying to create cards that produce minimal scraps, and the design of these cards maximises the use of the patterned paper! ***In order for this card making process to be quick, you will need a paper cutter/trimmer and some pre-made notecards for the card bases, the notecards I used were 4 1/4 x 6 1/8 inches from Kaisercraft :) The 'First Noel' collection by Kaisercraft is just gorgeous, I was immediately drawn to the papers with the stunning gold foil, just look at them! Sooooo pretty! However, I thought I would challenge myself to use the papers that I typically don't reach for first. They don't stand out as much but have some adorable patterns. I used the four patterned designs shown above (from the 6.5 inch paper pad) and cut them up in the following way. To do this you will nee...
