'Life is beautiful in focus' - layout

#lilac #kaisercraft #scrapbook layout

So, it has been a while since I last posted, but I hope to post a few projects before the end of the month. I had a few photos lying around so I thought I'd make a scrapbook layout. Kaisercraft's 'Lilac Whispers' collection is just gorgeous and I thought it was perfect to use for photos I had.

I only used a few materials for this layout to keep it simple and not overpower the soft and delicate colours. I splatted a mix of purple, blue and grey mists diagonally across the background of the layout. I used some of the leftover mist mixture to paint the edges of some of the collectables to help make them stand out a little more. To add some dimension to the layout I added some foam tape behind the smaller photo and behind the leaves.

I thought it would be interesting to create a layout with two of the same photo, except with one photo in focus and the other blurred. I think it brings some interest to the layout and helps convey the theme/feeling of the layout a bit more.

Materials used: Lilac Whispers collection (KC) - 12x12 scrapbook paper {neutral}, collectables | Kaisermists - wisteria, denim, winter grey  | Foam tape

I really enjoyed making this layout, I especially loved working with these softer colours. I hope this project inspires you to create and remember that life is beautiful; don't forget to focus on the things right here, right now. And of course, happy crafting!

Shanika :)
