Hello papercrafters :)

Hey everyone, this is my first blog post!

In the past, I have posted some of my projects on other social platforms but thought it was finally time to properly document my projects and actually explain the process I use. I hope to post projects on at least a fortnightly basis, but we will see how that goes...

I should probably introduce myself, my name's Shanika and paper crafting is my hobby! I love making cards and explosion boxes. I also dabble in other crafts from time to time. I have been paper crafting for several years now but have only recently decided to create a blog about it. #explosion box #tutorial Hey everyone, so in the past I've been asked by quite a few people about how I make my explosion boxes, especially the dimensions I use. I usually make explosion boxed with 3 layers, so that is the one I will be showing you step by step how to make. For the basic structure you will need: 12 x 12 inch cardstock (outer layer) 11 1/2 x 11 1/2 inch cardstock (middle layer) 11 x 11 inch cardstock (inner most layer) 7 1/16 x 7 1/16 inch cardstock (lid) 1) For each of the 'layers' you need to score at 4 inches from the edge of the cardstock. 2) Now you will need to cut off the four corner squares for each layer (note these cutouts should be 4 x 4 inches). 'Anniversary flowers' - card

#HappyAnniversary #Love #Foil Hello paper crafters! Hope all is well. Mini hiatus on the blog posting, playing a bit of catch up on my crafts and studies. I thought I’d share a card that is quite simplistic and elegant. I think it’s perfect for an anniversary or wedding card. *** For this card, I used a white 5 1/4 inch square notecard for the base of the card. I cut a 5 1/8 inch square piece from some plain white cardstock to form the panel of the card. To give this card a bit of dimension, I decided that I should add a thin piece of foam to the back of the panel. I cut a foam piece down to a 5 inch square and adhered it to the back of the panel. Next, I cut a strip of grey cardstock with a width of 3/4 inches. Make sure the length of the strip of grey cardstock is at least 5 1/8 inches. 'To know you is to love you' - card

#NativeBreeze #FauxStitching #AustralianFlora Hi all, here's my first papercraft post for 2020. Yes, it's already pretty much 1/4 of the way through the year, but better late than never! So on a recent trip to Kaisercraft, I saw the 'Native Breeze' collection and thought I just had to have it; it's gorgeous! It really showcases the beauty of Australian flora! I only used one patterned paper sheet of the project, but I definitely will be scrapbooking with this paper (hopefully soon)! *** First I cut out an 8 1/4 x 5 7/8 inch piece of black cardstock, scored along the middle at 4 1/8 inches and folded it in half to create a notecard that is 5 7/8 x 4 1/8 inches. Then I cut a white piece of cardstock to 5 7/8 x 3 3/4 inches, this will become the front panel of the card. Finally cut out a piece of patterned paper to 5 7/8 x 2 inches. Next step; using dies.
