'Christmas 2018' - cards

Image
#kaisercraft #challenge #christmas Hey everyone! So here's a set of four cards I made that was inspired by this month's Kaisercraft blog challenge . I decided to create four cards each with a different line AND using different Christmas collections! It was definitely a challenge! The main reason I decided to do this was I needed to use up my older Christmas collections to make way for the new ones! :) For each of these cards, I used a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inch white note card and used a 5 x 5 inch piece of patterned paper as the background. I also used two square stitched dies to create a stitched square frame, and a smaller stitched square die to cut out a small stitched square. At this stage, you should have four cards with patterned paper backgrounds. You should also have four stitched frames and four small stitched squares :) *** Card 1 - 'Silent Night' collection For this card I selected, 'ornaments', 'christmas quote', 'gold

#birthday #techniques #patterned paper Need a birthday card? Well here is a card that quick and easy to make and customise. It is so easy to make that I was able to bunch of them, each of which is slightly different. I'll be showing you four cards I made using slightly different techniques... These four cards are very similar in style, just slightly different methods used depending on the effect I required. For each card, I used a 5 1/2 x 4 inch notecard as the base. For the background of the card, I used 5 1/4 x 3 3/4 inch piece of patterned paper. The patterned paper I used were all from the brand 'The Craft Stall' from The Reject Shop (you can use any papers you want!). I adhered the pieces of paper to the card using double-sided tape. Now moving onto the different cards... *** Card #1 - pigment ink Pigment inks are great for stamping on any colour cardstock. The ink sits on top of the paper so it doesn't change colour. These are the inks I use on

'My sun, moon & stars' - card

#stargazer #stars #astronomy Hey everyone, so here is a paper collection that I am absolutely in love with... 'Stargazer'. This collection by Kaisercraft is definitely my favourite of all time... and you can probably guess why... I love blue, and I am currently studying astrophysics. It's just so perfect! Anyway, about the card... this is one you can make for someone special in your life. I think it's quite elegant and minimalistic, and it's very simple to make! To make the card base I used a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inch cream coloured notecard. Then I cut a 5 x 5 inch square from some navy cardstock. I adhered this to the front of the card using some double-sided tape with a small gap from each edge of the notecard base. This leaves a thin cream coloured border around the navy piece. Then I used a piece of acetate with some gorgeous astronomy themed designs and cut out a square that was 5 x 5 inches. Next, a cut out a square shaped sentiment for one of the 12 x

'Cogs & Gears - Father's day 2018' - card

#father's day #cogs #gears Hey papercrafters! I thought I share the card I made for my dad this father's day! I used the 'Factory 42' collection from Kaisercraft to create this card. It's quite simple to make, but I think it looks pretty cool! To make this card I used a 6 x 4 1/4 inch kraft notecard as the card base. I cut a rectangle that was 5 1/2 x 4 inches from some patterned paper and cut it horizontally into three segments so that I would get stripes that were 2 1/4, 3/4 and 2 1/2 inches wide and 4 inches long. I adhered the 2 1/4 strip to the top of the card and the 2 1/2 strip to the bottom of the card, leaving a 1/8 inch gap from the edges of the card. After doing this you should have a blank space in the middle of the card with just the notecard visible. This gap is to be filled with some die-cuts. I first stamped some pictures of cogs and gears using some black ink onto some kraft cardstock, then I cut these images out using the coo

Back to papercrafting! :)

Hey everyone! So it has been a while since I last put up a post, but for the past few months university has been eating away at my crafting time... but I'm back! And I have a number of projects I would like to share with you! I hope I can keep to a more regular posting schedule this time... I guess time management is key! New projects will be up very soon! I am excited to get back to creating, and hopefully, these upcoming projects will inspire you to create too! Happy crafting! Shanika :)
